WELCOME TO E-STARS

English Skills Training and Resource Services (E-STARS) offers customized programs to help immigrants overcome barriers to licensing and employment in the regulated professions in Manitoba. We help internationally educated professionals prepare to meet the qualification standards for English language proficiency provided by designated language testing agencies such as the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) and International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

E-STARS is dedicated to providing newcomers, international students and temporary workers with Professional English Language Skills training and classes to empower them to perform better at work, retain employment, get a job in their intended occupation and advance their career.

CELBAN Test Preparation Course

The Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) Test Preparation Course is specially designed for internationally educated nurses to meet the language proficiency requirement by all Canadian nursing regulators. This course will help the participants improve their English language skills, and prepare them to write the CELBAN test. Strategies and skills in test-taking will be covered during the training. At the end of the course, participants will be equipped with sufficient knowledge and hands-on experience in writing the test. READ MORE

IELTS Preparation Course

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Preparation Course is designed for internationally educated professionals whose first language is NOT English, for individuals who are required to provide proof of  English language proficiency for program-specific requirements of the university admission, and for people who apply to immigrate to Canada and for their Canadian Citizenship test. READ MORE

CELPIP General Test Preparation Course

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) General Test Preparation Course is specially designed for individuals (Permanent Residents and Temporary Residents such as international students, foreign workers, and visitors) whose first language is NOT English who are required to provide proof of English language proficiency to apply to immigrate to Canada and for applying for the Canadian Citizenship Test. This course will help participants improve their English language skills and prepare them to write their CELPIP – General test. Strategies and skills in test-taking will be covered during the training. English for the Workplace

The English for the Workplace course is designed for newcomer professionals who speak English as a second/third language, and individuals who are eager to improve their English speaking and writing skills to a high level at their workplace. This course will help the participants improve their English language communication and writing skills. English Classes (Work Permit)

If English is NOT your first language, improving your English is one of the most important things you can do after you arrived in Canada. This class is designed to help individuals who are holding Work Permits. The language training focuses on improving English communication skills, workplace English vocabulary, and enhancement of your soft skills. Settlement Services

The service is designed to provide settlement orientation and support to newcomers and temporary workers who have plans to immigrate to Canada. Our coaches help with daily life such as how to find a place to live, filling out forms and applications, where to register your children for school, etc. READ MORE
